Not recommended! - At first I tried very hard to give us a free table despite the busy schedule. But then things went wrong: The new owner is no longer involved in the gourmet block. But we decided to stay because of the nice atmosphere. At a dish, something indefinable (plastic?) Then appeared in the food. In another dish, the hot peppers were just "decoration" (according to the waiter, afterwards). Unfortunately, it was placed in the middle of the meal and the mouthfeel far from pleasant sharpness - only painful! Then you have to say in advance that not everything on the plate is edible! The invoice should also be checked very carefully here - our prices did not match those on the card. Unfortunately, based on our comments, there was not really any kindness. Never again!

We ended up here with our gourmet voucher and it was great. A great atmosphere, super nice service and the food was also very tasty, even if there was only a reduced menu during the Christmas season.

The food is awesome, everything from the menu tastes great, at least I had only heard positive things about their ordered dishes from celebrations such as birthdays or corporate celebrations. I often eat in this local restaurant, the ambience with the half-timbered house and subtle music sounding in the background is also great. The boss is also super personable and always available for a chat. All in all great restaurant, keep it up! MFG Marcel

Super friendly and very good service. The food is also highly recommended. In summer there is always a summer terrace. We will come back.

Unfortunately not nearly as good as under the old owner. Waited a long time until the food was ready. And unfortunately no highlight anymore. I would rate it as a lower average of the taste. Schade was always happy to eat there.

Great restaurant! My family and I have been visiting the restaurant "Zur alten Schmiede" in Groß-Gerau for more than 20 years now. The food was and is still excellent with the owners changed a few years ago! Great service, rarely so warm people met! In my opinion the best restaurant in Gross-Gerau. Unfortunately still relatively low profile, I wish you that this continues to increase! :)

Very warm welcome with helpful staff. the restaurant is Croatian with balkan meat dishes especially, located in the oldest grob-gerau house (which was a sword factory, the decor is maintained ). Ambiance is calm. The salads (starters) are small portions; Large and delicious main dishes, we took the Genchis khan which is shared with 4, it could be enough for 6, multiple meats in a sword.

A cozy Croatian restaurant in the oldest house in Groß-Gerau, right next to the historic town hall. Quaint atmosphere and numerous places on the terrace. On the menu you will find some typical Croatian dishes and various other meat dishes. The quality is decent and the prices reasonable. Very friendly service.

The ambience is both rustic and elegant. The interior is very coherent. The service staff are extremely attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic and the prices perfectly reasonable. The old smithy is highly recommended!
